R0Réfectionismes est un projet né de l’amour pour mon ami R. de la Makina. Initialement, je voulais lui faire un mashup d’anniversaire avec quatre morceaux de ce genre émergeant dans les années 1990. Finalement, il en est né une pièce composée d’une intro, de deux morceaux, et d’un outro.

La face A est entièrement composée de matériaux extraits du morceau "Reflections" de Gerard Requena ; la face B du morceau "Moon's field" de Pastis & Buenri -- le tout dans un processus de reproduction au non-identique afin de perdre tout ancrage fondamental à quelque original. Le même processus de refonte a été utilisé : déformation, extraction sous forme de boucles, constitution de samples à partir de ces boucles, enregistrement de ces samples joués en boucle pour obtenir un morceau par face. A partir du réagencement de ces deux morceaux, dont j’ai extrait de nouvelles loops, j’ai respectivement enregistré l’introduction pour la face A et l’outroduction pour la face B, afin de coller à la durée de l’objet cassette et à son format de 2 x 45 minutes.

Le tout final de l’enregistrement numérique a lui-même encore été altéré par l’enregistrement cassette que j’ai réalisé moi-même en deux exemplaires qui ne sont pas identiques.

R0Refectionisms is born because my friend R. is fond of Makina. I first wanted to make a mashup for his birthday, made up of four tracks of this typical 1990’s genre. Finally, I produced a work composed of an introduction, two tracks, and an « outroduction ».

The A-side is barely composed of mere elements extracted from Gerard Requena 's track "Reflections" ; the B-side from Pastis & Buenri's track "Moon's field" - the whole through a process of reproduction of the non-identical, to be deprived of any original object. The same process of « remelting » has been used : deformation, extraction of loops, remodeling these loops to make samples, recording of this looped again samples and remodeling again to get a track by side. Then, I extracted new loops from these two tracks to record respectively the introduction for the A-side and the « outroduction » for the « B-side », to match with the duration of the object « tape » and its 2*45min format.

The whole of the recording has again been altered by the tape-recording that I made myself in only two non-identical copies.
